This simulator allows to practice venipuncture and placement of peripheral venous access.
Key features:
- Hyper-realistic tactile sensation when puncturing:
- The change in resistance is felt as the needle passes from the dermis into the vein.
- When the needle is in the dermis, negative pressure is felt. -When the needle enters the vein, a “pop” is felt and the change in pressure is felt.
- Palpation of the vein is very realistic, even noticeable as it collapses slightly with finger pressure.
- Hyper-realistic blood flow:
- When the catheter IV accesses the vein, the simulated blood refluxes. This serves to verify the proper position of the catheter.
- Unmatched cost per use:
- Allows 2400+ punctures (tests done with 21 G gauge IV catheter needle).
- The replacement leather is not marked with holes.
- The vein is hyper resistant, it is not damaged or leaks.
