3D biomodels for the maxillofacial area are mainly used for the surgical planning of complex clinical cases.
They are made of materials that can be cut and drilled, allowing the surgeon to pre-plan the surgery, identify complex lesions, pre-mold plates for osteosynthesis or identify the site where an osteotomy is to be performed. This reduces intraoperative times, reduces the risks of the operation and improves communication between the medical team and the patient by being able to visually explain the pathology.
The biomodels manufactured by Plan 3D are obtained from the radiological studies performed on the real patient, which allows the exact replication of his or her anatomy.
