3D biomodels for the maxillofacial area are mainly used for the surgical planning of complex clinical cases.
They allow the osteosynthesis plates to be premolded and, depending on the material, they can also be cut and drilled, which allows the surgeon to pre-plan the surgery, identifying complex lesions. This reduces intraoperative times, reduces the risks of the operation and improves communication between the medical team and the patient by being able to visually explain the pathology.
