PLAN3D participates in the special “+100 PUCV Innovations” on the university’s centennial anniversary

May 21, 2025

As part of the 100th anniversary of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), the Rector’s Office has organized the launching event of the publication “+100 PUCV Innovations”, an initiative that seeks to make visible the advances in research, creation and innovation developed by its academic, student and entrepreneurial community.

Among the four outstanding ventures, PLAN3D was invited to share its experience and evolution as a company dedicated to the creation of clinical simulators (task trainers) for health education. In a special interview, our co-founders Carolina Chávez and Cristian Navarro, both industrial designers trained at the School of Architecture and Design of the PUCV, gave testimony of the road traveled, the challenges faced and the impact that the university has had in the development of this project.

During the conversation, Cristian Navarro highlighted the fundamental role played by the PUCV in the initial stages of PLAN3D, especially considering that none of the founders came from the business world. The lack of knowledge in key areas such as finance, labor contracts or public funding opportunities represented a huge challenge in the early years. It was precisely the support of the university that allowed these gaps to be transformed into learning and sustained growth.

In addition, Carolina and Cristian presented part of the catalog of clinical simulators developed by PLAN3D, allowing the university community to learn first-hand how applied innovation can have a concrete impact on the training of healthcare professionals.

For PLAN3D, being part of this publication not only represents institutional recognition, but also a renewed commitment to educational innovation and collaboration with the university ecosystem that saw the birth of this project.
